I went to a different restaurant a few days ago and found the Real Coca-Cola in the refrigerator there.
I looked at the ingredients and Sugar was listed instead of the high fructose that is used in the USA. At one time, sugar was the main ingredient here. I wonder why the change and why people have to import Coca-Cola from Mexico to get The Real Thing?

Choose to be poor

During my teaching career in Health Education class, I mentioned the moral strength of those who choose to tell The Truth, work for a living and pass those values on to their children. Some call this the work ethic. Sometimes it goes along with a Christian belief. Sometimes children see their parents working and learn from watching.

Others

See their parents lie, cheat, steal, avoid or even refuse to work and indulge in dangerous sexual behaviors.

They are choosing to be poor, morally bankrupt.

They pass this lifestyle on to their children.

Who is at fault? Who facilitates this lifestyle?

A. The individual, whether an adult or student in class who decides to use drugs and not study.
A. Liberal Democrats who passed laws facilitating this behavior back in 1964-65.

I heard an actress refer to The Bible as fiction the other day. I will not watch this tv show again. I wonder if the writers would be so bold as to refer the the Quran as fiction?

What part of Jerusalem is fiction? The Roman empire? Solomon? I could go on, but will not argue with illogical people.
The character portrayed is a logical person, which makes the statement all the worse.

Invisible Massive welfare

It used to be that food stamps/AFDC were the visible welfare condition. At one time in California during the early 1970's, checks were handed out without any background checks. I was in charge of the federal school 'free lunch' program for three years at the school where I taught for 28+ years. I discovered that about 90% of the recipients of taxpayer supported food were lying.

Now, besides the obvious other welfare money transfers to people who refuse to work, including section 8 housing, transportation, food banks subsidized by our taxpayer dollars and a slew of other freebies now a massive welfare 'project' is threatening our very existence.

The tip of the iceberg: A friend of mine is one month away from finally paying off his mortgage on a house that may be worth $50,000 on a good day. His bank called him with an offer to mortgage his house to the tune of $200,000!

Barnie and Chris have been doing a grand job of hiding this invisible massive welfare scheme going back to CRA and Jimmy Carter in 1977.

I do hope there are enough honest people to see this trillion dollar welfare money transfer involving hundreds of thousands of dollars to people who will not even make the first payment.

Memorial Day

I suspect that these "stamps" are really chits. The postal service is collecting money, but has no obligation other than promise to deliver a letter.

A banker who was directly involved in the South Carolina version of Banker's Trust. They wanted to open a branch bank near Charlotte, NC. The NAACP took them to court using the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977. After the court gave its opinion (and whatever you call it -- forced, coerced, made to comply) all the banks followed suit otherwise they would be dragged thru the same litigation.

Now, about thirty years later, many of those 30 year mortgages and worse are in default.

Many people were given loans for which they had no chance to repay.

Second case.

A friend of mine told me this month that Bank of America tried several times to give him a loan for $200,000. His house is worth maybe $50,000. He refused the loan several times and will pay off his mortgage next month.

This is what has caused our country, led by BHO to run up a multi-trillion dollar debt.

Merry Christmas

Today is a National Holiday.

I visited the Maitland, Florida public library earlier this week.

Their calendar had: Hannakah and kwanzaa, but NOT Christmas.

Interesting.

The book reading included other celebrations. The children were invited to make cards for their families.

There were NO Christmas coloring pages. Many "happy holidays" and "seasons greetings" but NO Merry Christmas.

I asked the reader if Christmas was included in the Hannakah day and he said no.

Christmas is a National Holiday.

Disrespect

Just this week I personally observed three individuals disrespect a grocery store. One of the three "hoods from the hood" threw potato chip bags on the floor while another threw vegetables into a scale with no indication of trying to measure their weight. The third disrespecting of society person took a box of baked chicken valued at about $7 and the three of them ran out the in door, not paying for the food.

They headed up to a "target" store.

Later that day a lady ahead of me in checkout at a different store described that her 80+ year old mother (who was standing nearby with a cane) had her purse stolen at a "target" store. Her charge card was quickly used to purchase $400+ of video games.

These disrespecting people are doing just that. They are not "disadvantaged", but morally bankrupt. They have been given too many "passes" by society that began sometime in the mid 1960s.

I informed the store manager that three "young black males" had just threw food on the floor and stolen a box of chicken.

I will be on the lookout for these three disrespecting people every time I go out in public. Enough of this.

Mr. Warren Tisdale and I taught together and coached for many years in a small rural school district in South Carolina.

"He went home after work" was said of him at his funeral. That statement by a close friend of his summed up what I would call a family man.

If people did this, we would return to those days when our homes were not locked and people respected others.

Gender illegal discrimination

Well, it finally happened for certain. The school will remain un-named, but two people volunteered at the same time for the same events. Both filled out the forms. One, myself was asked for a copy of his driver's license. The other person was female.

This is an example of gender discrimination. I have been involved with this on the fringes for a few years now. The driver's license is used to run a SLED background check. It appears that all males are automatically guilty until proven innocent just like the CDV "victim" is automatically a female. I wonder what the police do in the case to two homosexuals?

Telling The Truth

Children tell The Truth.
They do not lie unless taught to do so by someone who forces them to.

Recently one of the mainstream media TV networks attempted to imply that racism exists because children point to the darker skinned profile when asked the question, "who misbehaves in class, who is bad"

Also recently I had the opportunity to observe first hand the answer to the above question. The darker skinned five year old was the one who bullied the other students in class, unprovoked.

Honestly, when asked, those bullied students correctly identified the student--who happened to have darker skin.

What causes this behavior by darker complexion people in the USA? Perhaps that previous behaviors in 1964: burning down buildings, carjackings, muggings, etc were not punished.

On top of that, around the same time, husbands were banned from houses so that "single mothers" could collect welfare.

When no father is present, mostly boys and now girls lack that positive example; are shown immorality and are taught bad behaviors.

Conyers, Georgia

For the second time in the last five years, I had occasion to drive near Conyers, Georgia to refuel.

I stopped at a Shell Station just off interstate I-20. The behaviors of those standing around was repulsive and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Grown men were walking around the parking lot in their underwear. A woman in her 30's was standing in the door openly prostituting herself to one of the men, yelling across the parking lot: "do you want some of this"?

I was shocked. This disgusting behavior only went on only in the sleezy parts of large cities when I grew up. Now apparently it has spread out of Atlanta to over 30 miles away.

Warning: Do not stop near Conyers, Georgia if you can help it. Refuel in Columbia, SC or after the turn to I-285 or I-85.

On a happier note, Eufaula, Florida was a very nice and proper town that I recommend for a brief fuel stop or lunch.

Gun collector

I was dismissed by the Federal Prosecutor at a Federal Court trial last week. The judge asked if anyone in the jury pool was a gun collector. Their definition was: If a person owns two or more guns. I have one that my grandmother gave me, a springfield hinge loader that probably does not operate.

The federal prosecutor mentioned my NRA membership at that sidebar also. I can not prove it, but those two admissions probably made me unacceptable in his opinion and he dismissed me from the possibility of being a juror at the trial.

I am now 0 for 10. Intelligent, educated men are not wanted on juries. The front row was one man and six women.

I would like to know how this case came out, but have not seen it in The State Newspaper. It involved a man arrested in York County on some type of gun charges.

Combat Veterans

It is becoming more and more difficult to label, identify and kill our enemy. They are legion.

While in Iraq I talked with a Vietnam Combat Veteran. He told me a story of why he left before making his 20. While in Vietnam, in the combat zone, he was attacked by a "person" with a large knife. The first thrust he pushed back. When his attacker struck the second time, he twisted the knife in his shoulder. The Combat Vet pulled out his pistol--shot and killed his attacker.

He was courts marshaled for killing a teenager!

Recently this week two of our men have been accused of killing our enemy in a combat zone.

The Rules of Engagement need to be clear, our current CINC needs to either defend our country or reveal his motives why not.

Criminal Domestic Violence

This last week, after aligning work, two other people's schedules and materials, the weather cooperated and I was about to fly to fix a tire so an airplane could be 100% ready for times of natural disasters for the State of South Carolina.

When I arrived at my friend's house to pick up the last item, an inner tube, I was surprised to see three police cars outside his house.

Apparently, a man had just broken into my friend's house and physically attacked him. He was fortunate to escape without many injuries. He ran to a neighbor's house and dialed 911.

The police had the man. I waited.
and waited.

Then finally one car left, then another arrived. Apparently the man's mother. This crack-head was allowed to leave without handcuffs in a personal car.

This is why we have crimes. The police officer was way too lenient on the man. He even claimed to live in the same house and have domestic relations with my friend. A lie.

If the above were true, then he should have been handcuffed and thrown in jail on CDV -- Criminal Domestic Violence.

But no. He is treated like a child 40 years later. Forty years since 1969 when the Democrats passed laws throwing men out of the house so a woman could try to be a man and collect welfare.

This is the root cause of crimes. The Democrats social engineering. Disgusting, but real. A real story. I saw it with my own eyes.

I am referring to the incompetent egotist who sent 40+ men and women into the war zone in Mosul, Iraq without our chemical warfare suits and personal bags. We lived out of the clothes on our backs for three (3) weeks. Our defenses were left in Kuwait.

He drove around in an NTV (Non Tactical Vehicle) -- A Honda Pilot with various young girls, passing us by on the dusty roads of Mosul Air Base.

He finally met his match in the trump card of sexual harassment I have recently been told. It has been five years since his incompetence was on display for all to see. An Air Force Lt Col at that.

Now maybe, just maybe we can fire the "Al's, the Tony's, the Roy's" of the world who put people's lives at risk so some socialist can put his or her theory on the altar of social experimentation.

The bottom line of "Diversity Training" --- Hire those who are competent, not based on skin color or pre-selection.

Today, the US Supreme Court finally judged 5-4 that Hartford, Connecticut Firefighters who study for a test should be granted their certificates and promotions and not illegally discriminated on just because their skin is lighter than some others.

I have been a victim of racism in this country for the past 43 or so years, but have not lowered myself to cry foul when disallowed from holding elected office by the South Carolina Education Association based on race. Leaving the workforce

I decided to quote myself for this month's Truth.

During the previous 8 years, tax revenues were up, although you had to look for the story in the MSM. People may be reluctant to continue this voluntary tax system when most people refuse to work. It seems to have reached that tipping point where more people are taking others’ efforts without even a hint of effort on their part.

Deciding to retire and take social security early (age 63 now) is an option that some I know have recently exercised. Nothing illegal. Nothing immoral.

Previously, during the honest decade, some would go that extra mile, but no longer. Call it the silent protest if you like. When working people decide not to work, they make less taxable income. Simple when you think about it.

The socialist/communist lies of FDR back in the mid 1930 are coming home to roost.

Recently read The Forgotten Man. Good read. Many of the good, honest men died in WW II and are now few and far between.

Grace period

Well, it seems that the Internal Revenue Service has changed its previous method of operation.

On 14April09, I received a notice of error from the IRS. Last time, I was charged 104% immediately.
This time, the IRS gave me 21 days from the date of notice to pay the mistake on my Income Tax Return.

It was my subtraction error and I put the check in the mail the next day, thus avoiding any penalty or interest.

I am glad to see they have changed their method of operation and I think you will agree, this is much fairer than immediately charging 104% interest.

Ex Post Facto

Sometime around 1961 while in the 8th Grade at West Rocks Junior High School, Mrs. Cole taught her last class of Civics. I was in her last class. We learned quite a bit about what it meant to be a United States Citizen. I learned a few latin terms, including Ex Post Facto. She taught that it meant no one could go back and make a previous act criminal, then charge that person with a crime.

Recently, the US House of Representatives have once again engaged in this type of retribution. This time with contracts.

In the United States, the federal government is prohibited from passing ex post facto laws by Article I, section 9 of the U.S. Constitution.

Just as with the Kelo decision to take people's property, certain people have continued to chip apart this law that was wrestled from the King of England back during the American Revolution.

In the 1994 opinion United States v. Carlton, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously held that retroactive tax laws did not violate the constitutional prohibition on ex post facto legislation, provided their retroactive application was "supported by a legitimate legislative purpose furthered by rational means

Public schools

I took a tour of an elementary school in the second highest ranked school district in our state. It was not pretty. The secretary did not know how to verify that my address was in their attendance zone. The attendance officer took me around.
The physical building was well kept after about 30 years of use.
The students were not as sharp as they were, thanks to section 8 housing.

There were so many counsellors, coaches, speech therapists, police, and others that I almost couldn't see a teacher. The ratio was about 12:1 overall in my quick estimation. When I taught, it was about 28:1 on average over 30 years.

About twenty years ago, my son offered to tutor Math. He moved to Florida after being graduated from USC. Every few years, we received calls from the school district from a parent who wanted their child tutored. Finally after several calls explaining that our son had moved, I finally made a trip personally to the school where the list originated. The person promised that his name would be taken off. Ten years later and more phone calls and contacts, we still received calls.

Two years ago, another call. I had retired and explained that our son was not available, but I would be glad to do the job.
I had recently tutored a 5th grade girl from below basic to above average on PACT. My only stipulation was that I would take no money, just like my last success.
They never called back!
My only guess was that they were not serious or playing games.

My son called this week. He searched on the web and found our school district's Math tutoring list. His name was still on it with a 2008 (updated) list!!

So much for efficiency, competence and accountability from our government public schools.

They were good while they lasted. RIP public schools.

Proper Parents

During a recent vacation to Orlando, Florida, I was sitting on the edge of a fountain at a mall.

A family was sitting nearby. A man, his wife, and two children: one girl and a boy about aged 4, just about the same age as our grandson.

The boy wandered over to the fountain and put his hand on the spray, interrupting it and maybe a small drop landed in my direction.

The mother came over, talked to her son and led him in front of me. He apologized. My two sons were with me, but they did not notice this.

I said to the mother, "that is a good parent, thank you".

I wondered what percentage of the US population would do that.

Probably about 7%.

Any similar good stories?

On a sad note, I heard "whoopie's" comment: "most fathers took their 12 year old boys to prostitutes to introduce them to..."

Now I know why she is so demented. She may have been exposed to one of those "fathers" she was talking about, revealing her upbringing. Too bad she has to assume everyone else had the same childhood. I will say with honesty that my father certainly did not do that with me. I was "new" on my wedding day.

The new special self-selected minority

A few weeks ago as I drove onto Interstate 26 eastbound, I noticed the right lane a bit slower than normal. Following behind a seemingly new automobile, I noticed a few bumper stickers and began reading them from a comfortable distance behind and noticed the speed--about 40-45 MPH. The minimum speed there is 45 MPH.

That is when it started. The man held out his left hand and extended his thumb in the direction of the middle lane. I was trying to pass, but a line of cars were already in that lane passing the slower cars (mine and his).

Finally, I had an opening and passed. I looked in his direction and he held up a sign on his left window something like:

"Read up on the minimum distances between cars"

Now this guy must have had that sign for quite some time. He may even have a few others. Here we go..........

Yet another "special protected minority" wanting more "rights" than the general population.

For his information, here are the printed South Carolina Highway rules-- Quote:

The important thing to do (on an interstate highway) is to drive with the flow of the traffic at all times....and
The slowest speed you may normally travel on an interstate is posted. Sometimes, especially when the weather is good and traffic is light, even this can be too slow. Most important, drive with the flow of traffic as long as the traffic is not exceeding the posted speed limit.

There are no specific distances printed in our South Carolina Driver's Manual.

Forced Annexations

City of Columbia moves to annex pockets is the lead story on the front page of today's State newspaper (see link above)
The city previously threatened to deny water to businesses near where I live. They lied about having a continuous property line -- the (in)famous gap (giap) that did not exist. Before that, the city was allowed to count a prison population and promised that was all they wanted. Sound familiar?

I live in one of those unincorporated areas, but have not been targeted yet for forced annexation. I already pay the city double their charges for water and sewer as well as pay for a fire tax. The city has admitted that not all of the usage charges go back to water and sewer operations. This sounds like what happened in the wild west years ago. Threaten to cut off people's water.

I will reprint here a letter to the editor from yesterday's newspaper. It is apropos to our times.

Spreading wealth is like highway robbery
Instead of being charmed by this sentiment, we should ask ourselves what Sen. Obama means when he says he wants to "spread the wealth around." First of all, there is no such thing as "the wealth." All wealth was created by somebody -- and all wealth rightfully belongs to the somebody who created or traded for it.
Second, "spreading the wealth" means the government is taking some of what you earn and giving it to somebody else. For the recipients of this stolen wealth, "spreading the wealth" means stealing from your neighbor. Whether you rob your neighbor directly or you depend on a hired burglar or the government to do it for you, you are stealing the fruits of your fellow human being's labor.
Those who want something for nothing will vote for Obama. Those who believe in earning what they have by their own efforts will vote for John McCain.
If ever we allow the population of those who want something for nothing to outstrip the population of those who believe in earning what they get, we will witness the moral decay of America.

A similar taking took place many years ago. It began with a man's lust for another's property. He had an accomplice, a woman. Funny how some things never change. There is evil still in this world.

Under Clinton, the entire federal government put massive pressure on banks to grant more mortgages to the poor and minorities. Clinton's secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Andrew Cuomo, investigated Fannie Mae for racial discrimination and proposed that 50 percent of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's portfolio be made up of loans to low- to moderate-income borrowers by the year 2001.

Certainly no civil right to a loan by an illegal criminal alien.

That was the frustrated reply from an 8 year old boy when I didn't push my grandson quickly enough at a Church playground!

Amazing.

This 8 year old who I had never met before first said, "watch out" as he was swinging from a playschool swing designed for 2-5 year olds. My 3 year old grandson walked over to use the other swing. This older boy did help him into the infant seat, then snapped it and said, "someone else will have to get you out".

This scene only involved three people.

He went back to his swing and then said to me, "push him, I'm not going to do it"

I waited. My grandson and I talk as adults and he will ask if he wants any help.

Then the older boy said, "I said, push him, didn't you hear me!?"

I waited. Then the older boy said, "Push him now, if you don't, I'll have you fired." At that, I laughed at him.

Then he said, "how old are you?"

This is when I began correcting him.

I said, "If you want to introduce yourself, you first give your name, then your age." He did. I did. Then he said, "are you retired?" I finally understood.

He thought I was a teacher or employed somehow as a monitor at the church where we had gone for a relative's 90th birthday party. I said to him, "do you threaten your teachers at school this way to get your way?" He did not reply, then left.

This is the problem with public school education. The students think they are in charge. We have allowed this to deteriorate to this point. This is why many send their children to independent schools or private schools.

I encountered this type behavior about three times when I taught. All were from females. All were threats to lie about what I was supposed to have done to them. I took the threats to the principal each time. All were lies and attempts at blackmail.

This does not occur in european schools. I visited about ten when in europe. This is how education was done in America back when we had control of our schools and parents were married before they had children and sent them to school.

Cheating on the test

I just recently took a FEMA course, in residence at a local State Emergency Management location. It was three days. It was announced that there would be a written test that required 70% to pass. I thought it might be closed book and was prepared for that. When the time came for the test, it was announced that no cooperation was allowed but that the test was "open book".

I was a bit surprised, but understandable.

What I was also surprised about was the amount of "cooperation" that began during the test. First a few whispers here and there (what did you put for #6, etc) then outright getting out of one's seat and walking over to a co-worker and "helping" the other person with their open book test!

The kicker was that these people where members of our "minority" who are numerically a majority.

So much for "equal opportunity"

If these people ever want to be taken seriously and equally during a National Emergency, they must comply with instructions.

For the first time in my lifetime, on an official government application, race is absent, and in its place, complexion is there--hue or appearance of the skin and especially of the face.

blond, fair, pale, pallid, ashen, waxen, white, sallow, sickly, dark, olive, bronze, sandy, rosy, red, ruddy, florid... in some lists, the traditional race classifications are still there: Negroid, Caucasian, Nordic, Aryan, Melanesian, Malaysian, mulatto, Oriental, Semitic, Amerindian... it seems out of place to say that someone has a blond complexion or an Amerindian. Would those be hair color or nationality?

Now.

Finally.

Are we over the racial quotas that began in the late 1960s, discriminating on race who must be hired?

Or.

Will we now discriminate on complexion? Should "ruddy" be a classification?

Or.

Will temperaments be classified and quotas enumerated on that psychological quality? (choleric, melancholic, sanguine or phlegmatic) Which is more desirable? Which would be the "preferred minority"?

Or.

Will complexion be a hidden or code word for race? I hope not, but wonder why even put complexion on an application?

IRS charges 104% interest

Even I was surprised to calculate this.

The Truth: I have been audited three times in my life since 1963 when I first filed income taxes.

Once I got $20 back, once $4,000+ and this last time I owed $300. All were honest errors.

Now, as you can see, I am not complaining, especially considering the $4,000 "refund" a few years ago.

This time, there was a $26 interest charge for each month (if paid by May 28th). The notice was dated 28 April. Lets do the math: 26 x 12 months = $312 for the year (non compounded);

divided by the principle, $300 yields a whopping 1.04 or 104% for the year.

Public Education funding

I learned that most funding for "public school" education came from local sources in 1968 during my undergraduate studies at The University of South Carolina Education Department.

Who would know by listening to certain national candidates for President. The federal Department of Education drains $80 some Billion dollars annually. They insult teachers at local schools in my opinion as well as my observations I had with these people during my teaching career.

Many times a year I read articles how the poor are unable to connect to the internet and how this is holding them back. Maybe.
Facts: Reference American Journal of Health Education of all things. I am a lifetime member of AAHPER. I review professional literature because my organizations follow scientific research protocols. On page 109 of the March/April copy, Access Speed Disparities, 2005 are printed. There appears to be a significant difference between those who live in a Household making $30,000 or less vs $30,000-49,999 and higher. The breakdown between Dial-up and Broadband appears to be evenly split in each group that has access except the Age 65+ group! The average access appears to be about 75% overall.
What was not surveyed was: what was done on the computer(s).

Personally, I finished about twenty FEMA courses on the free EMI site.
I also just recently passed my FAA Private Pilot Knowledge test which took about three months of home study for a cost of $16.

I just heard a good explanation of yet another socialist-democratic scheme that on it's face seems good, but in the end is hitting hard on banks and the economy.

Namely, the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 signed by then President "Jimmy" Carter. He was the first president to officially campaign on a nickname. I also remember inflation around 20% during his administration, his bailout of a private corporation. Chrysler received a $1 billion cash aid. This was the first time in the history of the USA that a private corporation got what I would call "welfare", but that was the going trend back in his hippy days.

Now our economy is suffering from Jimmy's welfare program of allowing anyone to get a government backed loan regardless of their ability to repay. If a social-democrat is elected, we will be well on our way to communism as the US takes on all these defaulted loans and continues to give money to those who will not work to repay them.

Reminds me of a Football coach we played for several years. The first year they beat us 44-0. Our team had just 12 players, but they all enjoyed just playing. We learned sportsmanship, hard work and honesty. The next year we beat them by about 4 points. After the game, they were cheering!? The coach had convinced them that they had won (the scoreboard was not working). The next year they did not field a team. I asked him why he had no team (both schools had about the same attendance numbers). He said that we had different philosophies. I have never forgotten his reply. In other words, either beat your opponent by a big score, try to fool yourself and others that you have won, or simply not participate.

The family is the core of our existence. There are many who advocate that government become our family. They are wrong.

I took some of our family to see a living nativity at Union Methodist Church in Irmo, SC a week or so ago. Just as the sun went down, one, then another man in armor on a horse rode up and down the line of cars that stretched for about a mile to see the scenes surrounding Christ's birth. Those soldiers on horses and several others reminded me quite well of the atmosphere that existed at Jesus Christ's birth.

The Romans were in charge. They had power of life or death at their whim.

The family of Joseph and Mary held together because of a strong belief in God.

Other families have survived because of that same belief. It is also what kept the Hungarian families together as well as The Truth of their history and that communism is made up of lies. Joseph Stalin was a criminal who murdered millions of his own people.

The reason for the season for us is to celebrate Jesus Christ's birth.

Tire Pressure

I will try to make this short. A week or two ago, I got a frantic call while away from home. A warning light that looked like this:
(( ! )) came on. It looked similar to this: ( ! ). The first is the brake light warning and the second is the low tire air pressure. After a few days and several hours I found out that:
1. The dealership did not know what the parameters for setting off the warning light were.
2. Incorrectly identified the wheel (tire) causing the warning light to illuminate
3. Told a story (lied) about which tire was the cause, did not check the spare and did not know that the spare could indeed cause the warning light to illuminate

The answers are: 5 psi difference between the highest and lowest pressure readings will cause a warning and that includes any of the five wheels (tires). The sensors are in the wheels themselves. The dealership reported 32 psi all around. The actual pressures were: 30, 30, 30, and 33. I took the car, a Toyota Highlander Limited V6 to another automotive location and they discovered that the pressure in the spare was: 28 psi. Ah Ha!! 33-28=5 !

All this was understood because I went to school when Math was taught as a discipline, not as "fuzzy or "everyday math".

All these unnecessary warning lights were caused because a few drivers did not understand or were too lazy to check their air pressures in SUVs driven in the South West United States a few years ago. Now all of us must suffer this unnecessary, redundant and over simplification which turned into unknown by even dealerships that sell the product!

Not dodging bullets in Iraq

Standing next to me in Mosul, Iraq is a real hero. I will call him Ahmed. He risked his life and that of his family to work on the Air Base there. He gave me his medal that Sadam gave him in 1988 when they "won" their war with Iran. In actuality, no one won, but about 2.1 Million soldiers were killed. There is no account of how many civilians were killed, but perhaps some liberals might want to look into that question.

In reality, children can not usually solve logical problems until reaching adolesence, and then only if they have not been poisoned with drugs. Helpless in New Orleans

Perhaps an old story, but one that seems destined to drag on for decades. Some "victims" are still living in lavish motels on my taxpayer supported money and may still be living there a decade or more from now.

We have all heard and seen the lies by the main-stream media about how "George Bush" caused the hurricane and even blew up levies and "left people to die"! Lies. The local "authorities" were responsible for leaving the victims.

Now for more Truth: Just this last weekend, I met with a volunteer group of pilots. Several of them said that they flew to New Orleans the day after the story passed. Over four hundred (400) private planes with pilots donated their time, money and aircraft to assist in emergency evacuation like the English did for Dunkirk.

ONLY THIRTY (30) AIRCRAFT WERE EVER USED

One pilot said, "after waiting three days -- THREE DAYS !! -- most finally said that if they were not needed, they were going home." The one pilot then said, "they finally gave me a dog. A DOG! He flew it to some "shelter" in another state.

These people did not want to be helped. They would then have lost their "victim" status and would forfit their "right" to complain. They are children:

That was on his T-shirt. A member of my old Air Traffic Control Squadron. They had a get-together and I was an invited retired guest.

A stranger just had to comment.
It came so fast that it almost caught me off guard. Three of us were talking in a "public house" restaurant. He said something like, "where have you been?" I replied loudly as he strolled off, I guess too impolite to wait for a reply, "In AMERICA!"

These people are liberals. They are impolite at best and obnoxious at worst. Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild by Michelle Malkin does a very good job of documenting the worst behaviors including assault and worse.

I have seen quite a few T-shirts that I would have liked to comment on to the person's face, but usually their family is around.

The real message is that we were attacked on 9/11/01 and are going after the cowardly enemy that attacked us. They are worse than the JAPS who at least had uniforms, but did not declare war on the USA, nor followed the Geneva Convention rules of war. The Germans at least did that for the most part, treating our POWs with dignity.

Greatest Father's Day

This Sunday, I spent time with my wife, our youngest son and grandson. We had a wonderful time. At two years old, he is happy, full of life and loved by his father, mother and grandparents. This is what a family is.

I was also very pleased to see Mike Nifong finally receive justice. He intentionally smeared the reputations of three loved children to advance his own political career. Not much different from the Clintons. On several occasions similar despicable characters have tried to associate themselves with me. I refused. I walked away and told them to stay away. These people exist in this world. They have been around since Cain slew Able.

I truly hope that this indictment by the North Carolina Bar and Nifong's disbarrment will finally turn this politically correctness around. A lie is just that and The Truth speaks for itself. "Nifong's early comments about the case – which included a confident proclamation that he would not allow Durham to become known for a bunch of lacrosse players from Duke raping a black girl – were purposefully designed to boost his campaign for district attorney."

I recently saw an old movie with our grandson. The "villan" said, "you children believe everything you see."

I am Guilty of being:

1. A Boy Scout because I took the Scout Oath and Law and was an Eagle Scout.
2. A patriot because I took the oath to defend the US Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
3. A Husband and heterosexual, because I was married in a Church and remain married.
4. A Republican because I believe that government closest to the people is best and more representative of those governed.
5. A College graduate because I attended and was graduated (yes, Dr. Savage, I remembered the proper term) three times.
6. A citizen because I pay taxes, vote, and have served on nine jury pools and answered my country in 1969.
7. A member and deacon of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church because I profess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
8. An honest person because I tell The Truth to those who understand that language.
9. An American because I not only believe in our Republic based on democratic ideals, but exercise them.
10. An educator because I taught for twenty-nine years during which I encouraged all students to learn and participate.

Guilty is a misnomer unless one believes that the above associations carry a bad connotation. I believe in freedom of association. Being a communist is not illegal in the USA. One can register as a communist, campaign on that ticket (there was one in New York City during the 1960s I think, but you can call me on this), and vote for a communist. That was not my point. My point remains to all who campaign----tell The Truth so we can vote accordingly. Stop trying to mis-lead voters and lie about your true convictions and agendas.

The amnesty plan for illegal criminal aliens reminds me of a true story a friend of mine told me a few years ago. He owns a few rental units. A man and a woman broke into his house. He called the police. They did not arrest the two. They claimed "squatter's rights". It took him almost six months to get them out, clean up his unit and rent it again. I would never rent houses for a living

Of course, the intelligent reader will immediately draw a parallel or analogy with those criminals who have broken their way into the USA illegally. We are not going to 'forgive them' and grant them citizen status as well as free health care, child care, public schooling, housing, food stamps and numerous other freebies.

This coutry, that was founded on Religious Freedom, hard work, honesty and self responsibility has become a semi-socialist state.

One man who has admitted to a sin involving an underaged female was arrested, convicted and put on parole status.

One woman, in my former Middle School admitted to having sexual intercourse with an underaged male in special education.
She was not arrested nor put on probation.

One man who was merely accused of some sexual crime was arrested at his home. The charge was false and he was cleared.
Three men were accused of raping a woman at Duke U. The charges were false. They were finally declared innocent.

This is selective enforcement of laws. This is wrong and shameful. We need to select honorable judges and prosecutors.
The next elections in 2008 will determine if this will continue or not.

That is the quote in this month's EANGUS magazine. The article is written from a survey conducted by the Army's Center for Accessions Research and presented by Gen. William S. Wallace. The report specifies that only 27 percent of youth between the ages of 17 and 24 are eligible for recruiting.

Once a potential soldier is recruited, many drop out or can not further qualify.

Our military is in the top 4th for recruiting and in the top 10% of our citizens.

This is a vast divide. The top 10% are "carrying" the bottom 90%. No wonder our country is in such bad shape.

If you want to have a career and associate with America's best people, one should strongly consider our military.

Recently, our South Carolina Supreme Court Justice hit a car in a parking lot and left without leaving her calling card. Someone caught her this time. The first time, the City of Columbia Police department did not process her multiple crash nor test for alcohol.

Our driver's handbook outlines what a driver is to do when they hit an unoccupied car. Leave a note with name, phone, contact.

In my forty-some years of driving, I have done this three times. All three times the person contacted me and I paid the damages. Once in an icy parking lot at 2 MPH. Once in a foggy morning, my neighbor parked his car perpendicular to the curb, and finally a bumper of a truck. No damage was done to my cars in all three instances, but the cost to me, which I paid out of pocket was significant.

The point is that some people talk a lot about character, but unless it has been instilled while you are young, by your parents, one will have no compass in life and have no direction.

Our "Justice" in South Carolina should have resigned three years ago, but she is one of those "protected minorities". That is OK.

What someone else does not have does not change my integrity. When I taught school, many would say, "you might as well take it (steal it) before someone else does." My reply was always, "If it doesn't belong to you, leave it alone."

This week we have once again, moral inequality. Even the term "fired" was heard. The eight U. S. Attorney's could have been relieved of their duties four to six years ago. When someone's contract is not renewed, that person is not fired. Their contract is not renewed. Teachers work on a yearly contract. In South Carolina, the first two years were probationary; then next three were provisional, and after that, some due process is necessary to not renew a contract.

The Moral inequality comes from at least one Attorney who apparently has refused to consider the death penalty for terrorists.
This has been passed by congress. Voted on.

A pharmacist was dismissed for not providing a death penalty drug to a woman in California. The child in her womb is innocent. A terrorist who is tried and convicted is guilty of killing innocent civilians. Where is the moral equivalency?

UPDATE: The following week, this guy <----- has been arrested after "alledgedly" raping a young woman near the USC campus. He, like this other guy has a long string of prior arrests and at least one conviction. Unlike the three accused Duke Lacrosse players, I will not "demand his confession", but will wait for a trial and see what the evidence shows and wait for a jury of his peers to judge him. The only comment is the title of this post, namely, the woman, or anyone else, should have the option to use deadly force to defend themselves from personal attack and/or threat of death.

Communist at the "peace rally"

Yesterday, at "the fountain" -- a place in 5-Points -- City of Columbia, a group of about twenty-five individuals gathered to "protest" the Commander In Chief's decision to support our commanders with boots on the ground for an additional 21,500 troops. Unlike during the Vietnam conflict, there is no draft. Everyone serving in the military has been a volunteer since 1975.

I took a few minutes to see what this was about. Who did I bump into? A communist. He was dressed up in an old Boy Scout Uniform with a 1957 National Jamboree Patch like this one.

I went to Charles L. Sommers Wilderness High adventure canoe base instead, that year. I loved it. At one point, we were five days and about 50 portages away from the nearest civilization . This was at a time before cell phones also!

Back to the man dressed up like Lennin. He had the special cap with the large red star. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Hey, Is that your Boy Scout Uniform? I recognized the National Jamboree Patch?
Him: No, It was my father's.
Me: Well, I see you have a Lithuanian name tape on the uniform too.
Him: Yes, my dad came from there.
Me: Joseph Stalin took over the Baltic States during WW II. What does that red star on your hat represent?
Him: Oh, nothing.
Me: Well, thanks for the conversation, have a nice day

Now, I suppose that He realized that the communist outfit represented the same gang that took over his father's country and realized how indefensible it was to support the communists who killed many of his father's neighbors. I too, remember dressing up in cowboy and indian outfits as well as Yankees vs. Confederates and "war games" played around our neighborhood. As I grew up, went to College and studied history, I realized that some of these games were played for keeps and many people died. Joseph Stalin had about 100,000,000 people murdered. Communism is evil. I wish I had more time to converse with the man who may be a little disillusioned about the romanticism of the "reds."

I did not see ANSWER people there, but did talk to a Vietnam Veteran draftee who served two years in the Army' s Airborne divisions. I asked him if we were to leave Iraq, would he support our deployments to the other 74 locations including Somalia and Afghanistan.

He did not respond.

This is the crux of the "protest" -- they do not want the USA to defend itself.

I certainly invite debate on the substance of this post.

Further: Two jurisdictions in the USA, namely the state or Oregon and the City of SanFrancisco (go figure) have official policy of a "sanctuary" for Illegal Aliens. How would you like to come home from work and find a group of people who broke into your house, ate the food in your refrigerator, and then you couldn't "evict" them?

Just recently, a "van of 14" was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver did not have: License--Registration--Insurance. These are asked of every driver in our state. If these Illegal Aliens are not required to have these documents, why should anyone else bother. Gee, we could all save the time and money!

The ACLU, the communist organization is threatening to take the Rhode Island trooper to court for escourting the "van of 14" to ICE.

Next month, I will renew my US passport. It is required for re-entry into the USA. If these 14 don't have a passport, entered our country illegally, then why should anyone go to the effort to get a passport?

Either we enforce our constitutional laws or we become what the ACLU wants us to become, namely a communist country. I hope the authorities have the courage and backing to take this all the way to the Supreme court and then it will be put up or shut up time. If we do not or can not enforce even our traffic laws, then we will have anarchy and communism.

Recently, I had an opportunity to reacquaint with an old friend. We talked about once a month before I retired. She and I shared many similar beliefs and values. Today's Truth is about the value of family. Similarly to that strong bond that got the Hungarians through their many years of slavery to the USSR and communism, families in the United States have gotten those families that stayed together through difficult times.

The Truth came when she said that many grandparents "in her community" were still trying to be out there , instead of instilling family values to their grandchildren, including, but not limited to Christian values and work ethic.

If we could keep the federal government out of our schools, out of our families and our lives, we would not only survive, but prosper and have a happy, rich life.

21 Homeless criminals

The arrest of 21 homeless people in our city of Columbia, SC recently had certain people reacting in typical liberalize language.

"Oh those poor homeless people." and "leave them alone."

The City of Columbia opened two shelters and even provides transportation now.

The fact that when compared to wanted lists and found 21 of those staying at a shelter designed for about 100 tells us somethng. That something is that many homeless are criminals. They are trying to hide from the law, and need to be taken off the streets. Now if only we could do that with illegal aliens.

We do not need to shelter criminals. They need to be prosecuted and serve their time in a jail. Doing otherwise is wrong.

I have no problem with sitting down and serving homeless lunches. I have done it in the past. I invite anyone to debate this.

Here is a true story. I will change a little bit the names and places to protect the innocent.

Scene: a public library
One teacher in charge who is very competent and communicated the rules well in advance.
About a dozen participants. Each young person (age 1-2) was held by one adult -- parent or legal guardian.

During the half-hour session, the teacher passed out small plastic rattles so the children could participate in rhythm.

One child-X left his on the large rug. Onother child-Z tripped and dropped his and the X person immediately grabbed it, took it, and moved away with it. Z was reaching for his rattle when X took it. Z persued the rattle in X's hand. I watched as X went to his guardian-female type. She saw me looking at the situation and said, "oh, is this his"? I said, "yes". She took it from X and gave it to Z. I said thanks...

It gets better. X went and found Z's rattle and brought it to him. He didn't take it! She did for him...

The above illustrates what liberals want to do. All the "children" -- each get an object 'free'-- either money, or transportation, or food, or housing, or education. Most don't really want this, but they will try to take away that which Zs get, or earn for themselves. It is not about money, "the poor" or anything else like that. It is about morals and character. No amount of money can help these people. Only spiritual guidance can. This is what are in the public schools today: Xs and those who pamper them.

Thanksgiving

One hundred and two Pilgrims spent 66 days crossing the ocean on the Mayflower. They landed at Plymouth in November of 1620. Bitter cold soon arrived. Death came with it. Forty-seven of the 102 Pilgrims died that winter.

The turning point for the small colony occurred in mid-March 1621 when an Indian appeared at the door of their meeting house. His name was Samoset. He spoke perfect English, and told of a barbarous tribe, the Patuxets. They had been wiped out by a mysterious plague a few months prior to the Pilgrim's arrival leaving only the friendly and peacefu Wampanoags in the area.

Samoset left, but returned with one of the Patuxets--Squanto. He had been taken away from his tribe at the time of the plague, captured and taken to England and educated, captured by a slave trader, but rescued by monks. While staying with them, he accepted the Christian faith. He found his way back to the area where the Patuxets once lived, and taught the Pilgrims how to plant Indian corn which became the staple of their food supply. He also showed them how to fish and plant pumpkins among the corn.

In the fall after the harvest, the Pilgrims wanted to set aside a day to thank God for His privision and for Squanto and the friendly and helpful Wampanoags. So in October 1621, Governor Bradford declared a day of public Thanksgiving. He invited the Massasoit, the chief of the Wampanoags, who arrived a day early with 90 Indians. They brought deer, wild turkeys and popcorn.

Our holiday became official in 1863 when Abraham Lincoln declared it a national holiday to be celebrated each year on the last Thursday of November.

This Thanksgiving, I hope you will take a moment ot reflect on how God has richly blessed this country and its people.

For those who did not pay attention in public schools, this was during our Civil War in the United States of America. My son and I just saw "Flags of our Fathers" yesterday. The Fanatic japanese were on display again as they were in the movie "The Great Raid". The japs were drived by a 1,000 year religion. In The State Newspaper, Page A7 Commentary by Leonard Pitts Jr. "No political party has monopoly on morals." I agree.
But the Republican Party disciplines, or does something about those who break the mores of their party.
The Democrats allow killers to remain in office, the allow actual rapist to remain in office, and those who have actual physical sexual contact with teenagers to remain.

Republicans resign in disgrace because they have a conscience that means a moral compass telling them what is right and what is wrong. The social democrats, like the communists have no such direction. The communists, as some of us will remember, made Religious practice and churches illegal in the USSR, similarly the ACLU would like to do the same, supported by the social democrats.

Mr. Pitts tried to equate killing a person to sending an instant message to a same sex person, aged 18. Charles Krauthammer, on Fox News recently, correctly identified Bill Clinton as an "angry liar". The first time was the Monica Lewinsky denial/lie, and the second was the evasion that he had, on numerous occasions, the opportunity to direct the killing or apprehension of UBL. One Keith Alderman of MSNBC delivered about a ten minute triade in his attempt to twist the truth, and in so doing, completely exposed himself to be the BIASED anchor that he is. His shameful reference to the movie 1984 which was about communism completed the sleezy piece in which he concluded with something to the effect of 'good luck'. He used these words "...peace in the mid-east is only a mirage" ~ unless hezbollah is disarmed and the democratic government of Lebanon can take control of its country. The UN is worthless and may even have been helping hezbollah as documented by Israeli soldiers and their web site.

Stalin and the USSR had "peace"-- they killed 120 million who were disgrunted.

Iran has "peace" -- 10% of the country hold sway over the 90%. They kill anyone who is not a Muslim, and enforce "muslim laws"

North Korea has "peace" -- most of the country is starving and too weak to speak--oops, sorry, they are not allowed to.

I had been following this story for months. The superintendent of Lexington 5 school district was "let go" by a close vote of about 5-4. One of those who eventually voted to oust the former superintendent was "arrested" around 3'oclock in the afternoon so that "she couldn't make bail and have to spend a night in jail!" The accusation turned out to be "a complete fabrication" as Noam Chomsky would say. This is what liberals do. The interesting thing was that one telephone number on the defense exhibit #5 indluded a telephone number that I recognized, having worked at the VA. It is: (803) 776-4000, extension 6472 or Cell # 206-6858. Someone by the name of "michael."

The only advertisement this morning in THE STATE Newspaper was an 8 1/2 X 11" white piece of paper announcing Michael Ray Ellisor's running against Joe Wilson from SC-2. Joe Wilson is my representative. He is strong on defense and tells the truth.

I will give it to Mr. Ellisor. He also seems to be telling the truth. He wants us out of Iraq immediately and wants the US to sign the Kyoto Protocol and calls for yet another investigation into "oil companies". This last has been done numerous times with no problems to the oil companies.

Now we know where the democrat stands. A clear choice is offered. I will not speculate on the percentage he may get, but again, I will offer $100 to the first person who thinks that Mr. Ellisor's views reflect those in the SC-2 CD.

Hoolies and Honkies. These words have been made public recently. In one case, a racist group in Georgia, USA threw out "crackers" for all to hear and see. Then they added anti-Jewish words...and they weren't apparently drunk at the time.

I visited Hawai'i. Waianae specifically; I did observe in the local Junior High School. There was some racism, but not as blatant as that displayed by those at Cynthia's drubbing get-together.

I lived through the 1960s to the 1990s when I retired. The lie is that all they wanted was equality. To quote Animal Farm, "The pigs became corrupted by power and a new tyranny is established under Napoleon (Stalin). 'All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.' Snowball (Trotsky), an idealist, is driven out.

At least the NAACP's official position has moderated to the present party in power and have not shown the racism that was rampant there for the last 30 years. I met Julian Bond at USC in the late 60s.

Now to our present war against Islamic Facists: It is time to call a spade a spade.

As I have posted before, you will find the answer sad, but low.

This country is at a tipping point. As more people from the Greatest Generation retire, those like myself who were brought up on the idea that work is a good thing to do, the consumer generation (from about 1964 to 1998) may outnumber those who produce goods and services. This problem was caused by liberals and social democrats.

If those consumers vote themselves more of what the producers have worked for, there may be difficult times ahead.

In about 90 days, there will be a general election. Vote to preserve our way of life.

We all know that FDR had polio during WW II, but the press kept this fact from the public and the world. He also spoke the following words in white and the rest is from a forwarded email:

This morning I heard just three callers into C-Span. The discussion was about the recent attacks on Israel.

I remember the 1967 war. After a naval blockade and the dismissal of UN peacekeepers in place since the 1950s, Israel made a pre-emptive strike, then Israel was attacked by: Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Syria. In what is also called the Six Day War, Israel scored stunning victories against their Soviet-backed opponents.

The moderator read from a "newspaper" about Israel fighting against Lebanon. The caller on the Republican line simply and correctly stated that Israel is fighting against Hezbollah, which happens to be firing missiles at Israel from Lebanon. Hezbollah had seized two Israeli Soldiers in an across-the-border raid into Israel, an act of war. Lebanon does have a Hamas-led government. The missiles are strongly suspected of being supplied by Iran and Syria.

Thankfully, there are enough intelligent people with some free time to counter the obsolete media that thinks it can "solve" the world's problems.

Vietnam Veterans

I just spoke to my last group of mobilizing Soldiers this week. There still are Vietnam Veterans who are volunteering to defend our country. This time, hopefully, the won't be spit on. Some liberal, college professor supposedly wrote a book, claiming that this type thing did not happen.

He is wrong. and "Code Pinkers" are not supporting our troops at Walter Reed.

The Truth: I have documented emails from veterans describing time, place and circumstances. Most are from SanFrancisco and Atlanta, but two weeks ago, a Vietnam Veteran told he was just on his way to basic training and was spit on in his hometown in Iowa of all places!

We will not stand for this again.

Wars and Freedoms

Things are really simple. There are just wars. Our revolutionary war was one on them. We fought for our freedom from a tyrant in the form of King George. Our democracy took almost a decade to stabilize and still is not all that stable. We almost had a Constitutional crisis in 2000.

Those who would deny the same opportunity to others are racists. Let them remember South Africa where a minority population controlled the majority. That country had an election, and a virtual bloodless change in government. The same for The former country of Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on January 1, 1993.

The Truth: I talked with a nice family from the Czech Republic last week. The family of four, one man, one woman, one girl, and one boy were well behaved and on a cycling adventure. The husband said that the border between the two countries is now down and a passport is not necessary. My son was on a Christian missions trip when the country split and could not travel to Bratislava without his passport which he forgot to take that day.

Wouldn't it be nice if other countries could follow this model from the ashes of the former Communist USSR.

I was helping a colleague and while waiting, I saw something like this on the bulletin board at an undisclosed location: "No ogling, leering or staring, etc." The bottom line was: Perception is their reality. I reject that. In that case, I can make a Doctor out of a bum.

Just for the sake of argument, what if I wear sunglasses, what if I am blind, and, what if I am actually looking at that snake poised on an overhanging limb about to strike. No one, I repeat, no one can claim or know what another person is looking at. More than that, in public, anyone is free to look wherever and at whatever they choose. This is America. If some private place wants to behave like fantasyland, that is their choice, but not in public.

I would like replies this week, especially from women.

Right to Carry

There are now about 38 to 40 states that issue Right to Carry identification cards. Some governors vetos have been overridden by their legislatures. Of course, a security background check is required as well as a certified safety course and proof of competency. Personal protection in one's home is a part of the second amendment and an inherent right to defend oneself from bodily harm.

The question now is: Will other states reciprocate (like New York) just like some homosexuals who want other states to recognize their "marriage".

The next big issue coming in the next decade will be the Right to Work. Right now, about half the states do not require a person to contribute to an unwanted Union for the priviledge of working. A national Right to Work as well as a national Right to carry law may be needed soon.
